'...a safe space for all to freely express.... bond and connect on a different level to everyday work interactions...'

- workshop participant

In today’s workplace, wellbeing can be a tough ask. Many teams are remote, and burnout is a risk for both individuals and organisations. How then is it possible to make a lasting positive impact for employees? My Therapeutic Art workshops work by understanding wellbeing isn’t just something we learn about. It’s something we need to experience, offering space to shift how people feel in the moment. Something different—colourful, sensory, and grounded in the body. A chance to slow down, reconnect, and simply be.

Beyond Talking: Why Experience Matters

Therapeutic Art workshops create space for:

  • A pause from constant doing

  • Reconnection with self and others

  • Expression without pressure or expectation

It’s not about being “good at art”. Individuals will be offered full autonomy and held within their comfort levels. It’s about shared process, and using creativity for connection, reflection, and restoration.

A Real Example: Pagrav Dance Company 'Creative juices were flowing across the team... we had a fabulous time.'

- workshop participant

I recently worked with Pagrav Dance Company, a multi-cultural team collaborating remotely across countries. With limited time together in person, they wanted to deepen their connection through a shared experience.

The group brought a mix of relationships to visual art—some new to it, others more experienced. My intention was to create a safe, supportive space where everyone could engage in their own way with new mediums, which brought about new communication pathways.

We began with gentle grounding, helping the group arrive, slow down, and connect. From there, a rhythm developed and as the group stories shared, it seemed connections deepened.

A Shared Creative Journey

Using a range of materials and prompts, the session evolved with the group’s energy and curiosity.

They started with paint—exploring personal foundation and growth through colour and expression—before choosing to work with clay. What followed was a tender, playful, collaborative, and open session.

Together, they created a tabletop world —a reflection of both their individuality and collective spirit.

It was a joy to witness their curiosity, support for one another, and willingness to explore.

Why Therapeutic Art Works

These workshops don’t just feel good—they can actively support employee wellbeing strategies and enhance team dynamics.
